Riding intermittently for almost ten years, I am just
now really beginning to learn about what it means to be comfortable on
horseback. As a mother of two young children,
which I am home schooling, I am eager to get back in the saddle more
frequently, especially now that I have my own horse and saddle. I reside in
Kentucky, close to where I was raised. I prefer to ride in an English eventing saddle and with Western
reins (snaffle/hackamore). My husband calls this "half-breed",
I've heard others call it "cross-dressing". I love my French
link bit, and find that I don't enjoy the ride as much any time I
use something different.

Cody, my husband, is just about always at home in the
saddle. I am blessed to have the opportunity to learn from him,
gleaning as much as I can from his 20+ years of horsemanship experience. Of course, years of experience can not always be
trusted... someone claiming decades of experience could just be
experiencing the same thing for thirty years. But in all
honesty, one of my favorite things about my husband is that he has
consistently, diligently sought after more knowledge, especially in
regards to horses.

In our nine years together, it has been amazing to see
him educate himself and improve his horsemanship, which had impressed me
so much in the first place when we met. What we are working on
together now is providing this wisdom to others, hopefully like
yourself, that are interested in improving their horse experience.
My other hobbies include a variety of artistic endeavors,
such as photography, digital art, web site design, graphic art,
painting, drawing, needle crafts and other creative outlets. I
also enjoy yoga, baking from scratch, gardening, computer strategy
games (World of Warcraft-Aerie Peak), and training dogs agility and herding. I would consider
myself a writer, with hopes having some of my works published some day.

In addition to training horses, Cody is a professional
farrier. He is also trying his hand as an author, compiling his
thoughts for a book on horsemanship which we would like to have in print
or audio within the next year. His pastimes beyond the full-time
job of working with horses and cattle include leatherwork, flying
aircraft (models and hopefully the real thing some day). You can learn more about
him at
